The Sant Nirankari Mission's ideology is rooted in 'Sampuran Avtar Bani', a book named after its author, Nirankari Baba Avtar Singh Ji. Originally published as 'Avtar Bani' in 1957, the enlarged version of the book was published in 1965 under the title of 'Sampuran Avtar Bani'. The book, written in simple Punjabi verse, with some stanzas in Urdu and Sindhi, comprehensively explains the message of the Mission. Although not considered a holy religious book, every Nirankari values it for its authenticity. 'Sampuran Avtar Bani' has been published in various scripts including Gurumukhi, Devnagari, Urdu, and Roman. It has also been translated and published in English (prose) as well as several Indian languages including Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Nepali, Marathi, Garhwali, Haryanavi, Sindhi, and Telugu.
